Delta is set to launch flights between Orlando International Airport and Heathrow later this year.

The seasonal service will operate four-times-weekly between 28 October, 2024 and 30 March, 2025, and will be the carrier’s second nonstop European route from Orlando, joining Amsterdam which launched in 2018.

Flights will depart Orlando on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 2235, arriving into Heathrow at 1140 the following day, with the return leg leaving London at 1600 and arriving back into Orlando at 2020.

The route will be operated by Delta’s A330-900neo aircraft, configured with 281 seats across Delta One Suites, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+ and Main Cabin.

Orlando will become the airline’s eighth nonstop route to London, and will operate in conjunction with joint venture partners Virgin Atlantic, which also serves the Florida city from Heathrow, Manchester and Edinburgh (seasonal).

In total Delta and Virgin will offer up to 187 weekly flights flights to and from Heathrow and 14 US destinations this winter.

Other nonstop UK routes to/from Orlando include Aer Lingus from Manchester, and British Airways and Norse Atlantic from Gatwick.

Commenting on the news Matteo Curcio, Delta’s senior vice president Europe, Middle East, Africa, and India, said:

“In partnership with Virgin Atlantic, our new route seamlessly connects two diverse destinations. Orlando is a sought-after getaway spot for UK holiday makers wanting some winter sun and fun.

“With an abundance of exhilarating theme parks, beautiful national parks, and white sandy beaches, customers will find there’s something to suit all ages and interests in Orlando.”
