Resident Hotels is gearing up to open its sixth UK property and its first in Scotland.

As previously reported, The Resident Edinburgh will be housed with the converted Meldrum House – an office block previously used by HMRC.

The hotel is situated on Drumsheugh Gardens in Edinburgh’s West End district, and will feature 164 rooms, as well as public spaces including a library and lounge with double fireplace.

Resident Hotels’ CEO David JM Orr confirmed on LinkedIn that reservations have now opened for stays from 1 September via residenthotels.com.

Previously known as Nadler Hotels, the group currently operates four properties in London’s Covent Gardens, Kensington, Soho and Victoria districts, as well as a 106-room hotel on Seel Street in Liverpool.

Business Traveller has reviewed the Covent Garden and Victoria properties when they were still operating under the Nadler name.

There has been a flurry of new and rebranded Edinburgh hotels in recent months, including the unveiling of W Edinburgh and 100 Princes Street.

The former Holyrood Hotel in Edinburgh’s old town was recently reflagged as the Edinburgh Marriott Hotel Holyrood following a £10 million refurbishment programme, and The Hoxton will open its first property in the Scottish capital this summer.
