Millennium Hotels and Resorts Middle East & Africa has become a member of the World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance. First announced at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2024 earlier this month, the membership reaffirms the brand’s commitment to fostering sustainability across the region’s hospitality industry.

This new development will see Millennium Hotels & Resorts Middle East & Africa align with nearly 50 global members as a new affiliate member. Members of the alliance work to collectively address critical challenges affecting the planet, communities, and the hospitality industry, with the hope of instigating sustainable change through value-led resources and programs, designed to empower the hospitality sector to create a future that prioritizes prosperity and responsibility.

Millennium Hotels & Resorts MEA is passionate about its sustainability initiatives, with multiple environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals being prioritised as part of the “Millennium’s Green Path Brand Playbook.” Earlier this year, the company partnered with The Storey Group for a tree-planting initiative, and plans to achieve an ambitious target of a 27 per cent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 are well underway. The company also hopes to attract more and more “green-thinking” visitors as environmental consciousness and the preference for sustainability-supporting brands continues to rise among travellers. By integrating eco-friendly practices into operations and forging partnerships with local green initiatives, the brand aims to offer guests great accommodation options while also significantly reducing its carbon footprint.
