The 109-year-old Meikles hotel in Zimbabwe’s capital Harare has joined Hyatt’s Regency brand.
Now known as Hyatt Regency Harare The Meikles, the addition marks the group’s first property in the southern African country.
The five-star hotel first opened in 1915 overlooking Africa Unity Square, and today comprises 312 rooms across its north and south wings.

Features include a new all day dining restaurant The Kitchen (pictured above), as well as fine dining venue La Fontaine Grill Room, spa facilities, a fitness centre, an outdoor pool and 2,000 sqm of events space.
Hyatt Regency Harare The Meikles joins around ten properties under the brand across Africa, including the recently unveiled Hyatt Regency Nairobi Westlands, and the Hyatt Regency Cairo West which opened in 2021.
