Wyndham Hotels and Resorts has opened the first French property under its Dolce by Wyndham brand.

The 178-room Dolce by Wyndham Versailles – Domaine du Montcel is housed within a building which was formerly the residence of France’s Oberkampf-Mallet family in the late 1700s.

The property is situated in Domaine du Montcel Park close to the Palace of Versailles, around 30 minutes from Paris and the city’s Orly airport, and within walking distance of Jouy-en-Josas rail station.

Features include La Toile restaurant offering “traditional French cuisine with fine Asian touches”, open kitchen restaurant La Manufacture, and Bar Le Cèdre with a terrace overlooking the gardens.

Spa du Moncel by Sothys offers indoor and outdoor pools, a steam room and sauna, snow cave and sensory showers, and the hotel’s conference centre has 18 meeting rooms including the 550 sqm Baccarat ballroom.

Wyndham acquired the Dolce brand in 2015, and currently operates around 20 properties across the US, Canada, Vietnam, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Italy and Portugal.

This month also saw the addition of the first Dolce by Wyndham property in Turkey, with the opening of the 155-room Dolce by Wyndham Cesme Alacatı, located on the shores of the Aegean Sea.

Wyndham lists just two properties in France, the other being Wyndham Halcyon Resort La Souterraine located around 60km north of Limoges in the country’s Nouvelle-Aquitaine region.

Commenting on the news Dimitris Manikis, president, EMEA, Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, said:

“Dolce by Wyndham Versailles is a timeless destination, perfect for romantic getaways and special events, facilitating both leisure and corporate travel.

“The hotel offers breathtaking natural scenery and memorable history-rich experiences, all while providing exceptional service alongside luxurious and modern amenities—an unbeatable combination.”
