Airport Dimensions opens The Club SFO

Collinson-owned Airport Dimensions has opened its latest US lounge at San Francisco International Airport.

The Club SFO is located within the airport’sHarvey Milk Terminal 1, and features seating for 249 seats and a ‘Northern California Natural’ theme.

Features include a cabin-inspired bar and open dining area, a wellness area with Luminescence rooms, shower facilities, and “a micro-climate Fireplace, designed to create the illusion of a campfire using water vapor and lighting”.

Design elements include double height floors in the lobby “mimicking majestic redwood trees”, a tree canopy ceiling “creating the illusion of dappled sunlight filtering through leaves”, and a glazed concourse viewing area which “evokes the iconic San Francisco fog”.

The lounge also features works by Californian artists Cathy Lu and Denise Laws, including an installation crafted from reclaimed foil-lined packagings, and wall mural in the dining area depicting “a panoramic view of the majestic Redwood Forest”.

The Club SFO is open daily between 0400 and 2300, to Priority Pass and LoungeKey customers, as well as individuals looking to purchase a Club Pass online or at the lounge.

Airport Dimensions’ portfolio currently comprises 65 lounges and experiences either open or under development across North America, South America, Asia Pacific, the UK and the Middle East.

These include the group’s recent partnership with American investment bank and financial services firm JP Morgan Chase to create the Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club brand, with lounges so far open at airport’s including Boston, Hong Kong and New York’s LaGuardia and JFK.

Commenting on the opening Laura Banse, senior vice president of design and construction at Airport Dimensions, said:

“The Club SFO’s design is a celebration of San Francisco’s beauty and culture. We are overjoyed to see our vision realized in every detail, from the Redwood Forest-inspired interior down to the locally sourced artwork.

“Every facet of the lounge is meticulously curated, based on extensive research, allowing us to introduce features that satisfy the needs and wants of the modern traveller.”

Over the last 12 months San Francisco International has welcomed several new and refurbished lounges by carrier’s including Air Canada and Air France, as well as American Express’ renovated and expanded Centurion Lounge.
