From 30 September 2024, Air Serbia will launch a new nonstop service between its Belgrade base and Guangzhou in China.

This will be the flag carrier’s second route to China, following a Belgrade-Tianjin service launched less than two years ago.

Air Serbia will serve Guangzhou twice a week, departing from Belgrade every Monday and Friday at 0050.

On the return journey, the flights will depart Guangzhou on Mondays and Fridays at 2210.

Air Serbia will deploy its Airbus A330-200 aircraft on Belgrade-Guangzhou.

The Serbian national carrier already has two of the aircraft type, with a third expected to join the fleet soon.

The Air Serbia A330-200s feature a dual class configuration, with 21 lie-flat business class seats in a staggered alternating 1-2-2 and 1-2-1 cabin, as well as economy class service across a 2-4-2 configuration.

“When we established direct flights between the Republic of Serbia and the People’s Republic of China on 9 December 2022, after a hiatus of over two decades, we once again opened the doors of Asia to passengers from the wider Balkan region.

The service significantly contributed to boosting cooperation and bilateral relations between Serbia and China, positively stimulating economic growth, trade relations, tourism and cultural exchange,” said Jiri Marek, CEO of Air Serbia.

He added that the airline was in ongoing negotiations with major Chinese airlines regarding potential cooperation.
