Virgin Atlantic turns 40 this weekend, and is celebrating with a series of promotions on fares, reward seat redemptions and merchandise.

The carrier launched on 22 June, 1984, with its inaugural service being between London and New York.

Earlier this year kicked off the celebrations by unveiling a new aircraft featuring a name and icon in honour of the airline’s founder Sir Richard Branson.

Now the airline has launched a flash 40th birthday fares sale, with up to £99 (the cost of Virgin’s first ever flight) off Economy Classic and Delight return flights departing the UK when quoting the code FORTY.

There’s also £199 off Premium fares, and £299 off Upper Class tickets using the same code, and Virgin Atlantic Holidays customers can get up to £200 off holiday packages when quoting the code BIRTHDAY (£25 discount per person, plus an additional £100 when spending a minimum of £3,000).

The sale runs until 2359 on Monday 24 June, and is valid for departures between 24 June and 31 December, 2024.

Meanwhile Flying Club members can get 40 per cent off reward seat redemptions (excluding taxes and charges) when booking by 24 June and travelling during 2024.

And finally Virgin is offering up to 40 per cent off selected products in its lifestyle collection, which launched late last year in collaboration with British designers Fenella Smith and Oliver Co.
